They appear to be coming on late and strong. Other crops are later than normal, like kohlrabi. We watched it grow so slowly this year we weren\u2019t sure they were going to make it. But they did, and they meet the crisp and juicy test. Great raw, the kohlrabi is also an uncanny potato substitute.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\">Aloo Matar with Kohlrabi<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\">This dish is a traditional Indian dish that calls for potatoes and peas. This version takes advantage of what\u2019s in the share and is excellent. The garam <st1:city><st1:place>marsala<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> is a mix of roasted spices that is about all you need for flavoring. If you are well versed in Indian cooking you can simply use your favorite blend of spices.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family:Wingdings;\"><span style=\"\"><span style=\"\">     <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]-->2 tbsp oil<\/li>\n<li>3 garlic scapes (see photo), chopped fine<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 tbsp chopped ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 cinnamon stick and 1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"font-family:Wingdings;\"><span style=\"\"><span style=\"\">     <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]-->2 medium kohlrabi, peeled and cut into cubes<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 cups snap or snow peas, stringed and chopped<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->1 tbsp garam <st1:city><st1:place>marsala<\/st1:place><\/st1:city><\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->\u00bd cup tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li>chopped cilantro or dill for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan and saute garlic scapes and ginger for 2  minutes over medium high heat. Add the garam marsala, bay leaf and cinnamon stick and saute for 1 minute more. Add potatoes, peas and tomato sauce and bring to boil. Turn down heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until kohlrabi is tender.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with a dollop of yogurt and chopped herbs.         <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IZpBNvaDJnw\/SE807taxYaI\/AAAAAAAAAE8\/b4DiybjDNGY\/s1600-h\/scapes+060908.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IZpBNvaDJnw\/SE807taxYaI\/AAAAAAAAAE8\/b4DiybjDNGY\/s320\/scapes+060908.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5210441494299763106\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\"><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\"><b style=\"\">Kohlrabi Radish Salsa<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\">Kohlrabi can fit into the concept of Mexican cooking just as easy as Indian. Salsa after all is just something tasty to dip your chips into. This salsa would also be good on fish.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->1 kohlrabi, peeled<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 radishes and\/ or 2 Hakurei turnips<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 garlic scapes or 1 green garlic<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 scallions<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->2 stalks komatsuna<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->1 jalapeno or 1 tbsp hot sauce<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->4 tbsp tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->2 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->juice of \u00bd lime<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->1 tbsp vinegar<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->salt to taste<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->cilantro or dill for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt;\">Clean and chop all the ingredients coarsely.
